Two New Corolla Models
There will be both a sporty and adventure spec for new hatch
With the new Toyota Corolla coming later this year, it was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show that there will be both GR Sport and Trek models in Corolla line-up.
Following the release of the Yaris GR Sport last year, the Corolla GR Sport is the second model to embody the Toyota Gazoo Racing spirit in this spec. It is available with either a 1.8 or 2.0-litre self-charging hybrid powertrains. The motorsport influence adds distinctive styling cues, with a new dark chrome grille at the front and new lower side skirts, sills and rear diffuser, too.
The GR Sport also gets unique 18-inch alloys along with rear privacy glass, front fog lights, LED headlights and an exclusive two-tone Dynamic Grey paint finish.
Inside, the seating is black cloth upholstered with leather-effect bolsters as standard. The black and red stitching across another dose of sportiness into the interior, and brightens up the instrument panel, steering wheel and shift lever. The Corolla GR Sport will go on sale across Europe next January, with full details to be released closer to going on sale.
The Corolla Trek takes the hatch in the other direction to its sporty sibling, as it prepares the Corolla for outdoor adventures.
Available in both hatch and Touring Sports versions, again with the same duo of engines on offer, the Corolla Trek is a collaboration between Toyota and bicycle manufacturer Trek.
The model sits 20mm higher than standard models and also features front and rear underruns. The wheels are smaller 17-inchers, and it also gets rear privacy glass, front fog lights and LED headlights. There's a 7-inch TFT infotainment system as standard, with cloth upholstery and a wooden trim set-up, proving it is outdoorsy at heart.
The Corolla Trek will go on sale in August of this year, with full details on pricing and availability coming in due course.
