Fiesta ST gets Ford Performance Edition
The fiesty hot hatch gets a few tweaks – and a spray tan
The latest Ford Fiesta arrived last year to much acclaim. And now, we have the first special edition.
It's called the Fiesta ST Ford Performance Edition and will be limited to 600 units. All of those will exclusively be three-door models and finished in the stunning Deep Orange Paint. Inside, it's based on the range-topping ST-3 trim so it has a premium B&O sound system and leather Recaro sports seats.
As well as the paint job, the Performance Edition sits on a plethora of Ford Performance parts. These include 18" Ford Performance alloy wheels and a Ford Performance coilover suspension pack. The 10-spoke alloys save weight – 7kgs over the original wheels – and are finished in a smart Magnetite colour.
The coilover suspension was tested and developed at the Nürburgring and offer manual adjustability with 12 bump and 16 rebound settings to finely tune the driving characteristics. It also lowers the ride by 15mm at the front and 10mm at the rear.
Given that buyers of this ultimate ST will clearly have driving thrills at the forefront of their minds, Ford have taken the liberty of adding the optional Performance Pack, too, fitting the Performance Edition with the optional bespoke Quaife-designed limited slip diff, launch control and performance shift light indicators.
Ford are yet to set the exact pricing for the Fiesta ST Ford Performance Edition, however that will be confirmed next month. We do know that it will carry a premium of at least £3,000 over ST-3 models – meaning it'll be at least £25,000.
Orders will open in June whilst first deliveries of these super STs can be expected to start in early September.
