The 2019 updates sees the return of the esseesse

Abarth have announced that the 2019 model year updates for the 595 hot hatch will include a 70th Anniversary range, plus a higher level of standard equipment across the range.

Leading the celebrations is the 595 70th Anniversary model, which comes in a Competizione spec that also features 70th Anniversary badging. This means that the standard equipment on the 70 Anniversary hatch includes 7" Uconnect with mobile integration, plus the Brembo brakes, Sabelt racing seats and Record Monza exhaust are also fitted off-the-shelf. The exhaust system also includes a sport button, which opens the exhaust valve and enhances the Abarth's raucous roar.

All models from the Turismo spec up will now come with a 7" Uconnect touchscreen system – compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Turismo is also embellished with the Urban Pack, which adds parking sensors, plus rain and dusk sensors for the wipers and lights respectively.

But, the most exciting addition to the family is the esseesse. It's named after the tuning kits that took the previous Abarth 500 up to 160bhp ten years ago, whilst also adding Eibach lowering springs and bigger brakes. In this new, 595 guise, the esseesse sits atop the family. The additions to the 595 include an Akrapovic exhaust system that was a bespoke development for the model, whilst a mechanical limited slip differential has also been added to the esseesse as standard – which will only serve it well. Another standard performance enhancer is the bespoke air filter by BMC.

Front brakes on the 595 esseesse are Brembo numbers sporting discs that are both ventilated and perforated and also feature smart red brake calipers, whilst the suspension is uprated to  Koni FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) both front and rear. The esseesse rides on 17" alloys as standard, with the Supersport wheels finished in a Racing White hue. Side stripes also adorn the 595 esseesse with matching side mirror covers and front and rear DAM.

Inside, the esseesse features Sabelt 70 seats, a redesigned version for the special edition that features the number 70 embroidered on the cover. The rest of the interior includes the 7" Uconnect touchscreen with mobile connectivity as standard.

Pricing for the new 595 range begins from £16,495 for the 145bhp 595, with the Turismo models starting at £19,695, the Competizione at £21,795 and esseesse models starting at £25,295. The new range is available to order now.
